The name Asclepias comes from the Greek God of medicine Asclepius
because the ancients used this plant for curative aims (its produces a very toxic
white latex which they thinned down to prepare a worm syrup; besides, the leaves used in poultice have healing virtues). Be careful, to reserve only for the initiates!
