Musa ornata
Native to southeast Asia, this small ornamental banana tree does not exceed
3 metres in the West-Indies, and 4 metres in Bangladesh, its origin country.
The Swedish botanist Carl von Linné gave to the banana tree the name of Musa, in tribute to the Greek doctor Antonio Musa,
who had saved the life of the emperor Octavian Augustus. We're not getting
any younger !
