Heliconia imbricata

Here is Heliconia imbricata, whose short and thick red bracts are ranked as the tiles on a roof.

The big leaves of heliconias were used in the past to contain the foods which where put to cook
on live embers.

This cooking method was left with the invention of the aluminum foils.
