Cattleya origin
The genus name of Cattleya, was given by the famous botanist Lindley, in tribute to William Cattley,
British horticulturist who discovered Cattleya labiata in 1818 in Brazil.
Cattleya is besides the first orchid from which blossoming was got under conservatory.
