Hiva Oa is the most famous island in the Marquesas Islands, undoubtedly thanks to Belgian singer Jacques Brel and French painter Paul Gauguin, who spent there the last years of their life. They are both buried in the cemetery of Atuona, the main city of the Hiva Oa. On Hiva Oa, it is possible to admire the biggest tiki (statuettes) of Polynesia.
