Reunion Island

    Reunion Island is located in the Indian Ocean south west of Mauritius. As Martinique and Guadeloupe, it is at the same time an overseas department and an overseas region of France, whith Saint-Denis as prefecture. Reunion Island covers 2512 km2 and counts about 800.000 inhabitants, the Réunionnais, who live mainly on tourism, sugarcane production and fishing.
