    Since 1648, Saint Martin's island is shared between Netherlands and France. The North of the island (51 km2) depending on Guadeloupe has for county seat Creek. The south part (34 km2) is connected to Curacao and has for county seat Philipsburg . The island counts about 30.000 inh.
