Pollinator hummingbirds. We saw on a previous photo that the flowers of Heliconias are contained by the bracts. The pollination of the plant is made by hummingbirds attracted by the flowers nectar. Male flowers are located above and female flowers under the inflorescence. A video of hummingbirds I have turned in Guadeloupe shows these small prodigies in action, first on China roses, then on Heliconias.
