Nymphaea violacea. There are about fifty species in the genus Nymphaea. The biggest live in Brazil : the leaves of Amazonia Victoria Regia are more than 2 meters in diameter and have raised edges as on a cake pan. The photo beside shows a modest Nymphaea violacea.
