    Barbados is the most easterly of the Carribean islands (430 sq km, 300.000 inhabitants). In the center, Mount Hillaby culminates at 336 m. Discovered by the Spaniards in the XVIth century, Barbados becomes a British colony in 1925, before reaching the independence in 1966.
