Bora Bora was discovered in 1777 by the navigator James Cook. It is formed of a coral ring which encircles a marvellous lagoon, considered as the nicest of the planet. Nicknamed the Pearl of the Pacific, Bora Bora is part of the archipelago of the Leeward Islands.
In 1995, Paul-Emile Victor died in Bora-Bora where he has lived since 1977 with his wife.
