    Island most north-westerly of the archipelago of the Canary Islands, La Palma is the one which shelters the most luxuriant forests. It is therefore very appreciated by the hikers, but also by astronomers who take advantage of an extraordinarily clear sky to observe the stars at Roque de los Muchachos with the famous Gran Telescopio Canarias.
