Satellite view of Moho Tani (Marquesas Islands)


    Desert island in the southern Marquesas Islands, Moho Tani, also called Motane, was discovered in 1595 by the Spanish navigator Alvaro de MendaƱa , before famous James Cook finds it in 1774. It was listed in 1992 as a natural reserve to protect its biodiversity. South of Moho Tani lies the islet Terihi which hostes several species of sea birds.
