Satellite view of Nuku Hiva (Marquesas Islands)

    Nuku Hiva is the biggest (330 km2) and the most populated of the Marquesas Islands. It culminates in mount Tekao (1224 meters). The main village of Nuku Hiva, Taiohae, is the capital of the Marquesas Islands. Vaipo Waterfall is the third highest of the world (350 meters). Nuku Hiva was the first french place of deportation for the political convicts.
