Ua Huka is the smallest of the northern Marquesas Islands with only 83 km2. Located 42 km to the east of Nuku Hiva, it counts about 600 inhabitants, mostly installed in the south (see on the map the road which links up the 3 villages in the south, Vaipaee, Hane and Hokatu). The arboretum of Papua-keikaa, near Vaipaee, shelters endemic species of the Marquesas.
