Paul Gauguin in Le Carbet (Martinique)
Painter Paul Gauguin did a short stay in Le Carbet. It is certainly there that he caught the virus of the islands that will drive him until the faraway islands of Polynesia. He represented the Anse Turin on one of his canvases. A Paul Gauguin museum retraces the arrival of the famous painter in Martinique.
