The Canal of the Slaves or Canal Beauregard

The Canal of the Slaves, constructed in 1760, supplied in water the distilleries of the region of Fond-Saint-Denis, Saint Pierre and le Carbet. The walk on the 6 kilometers of the canal is a true delight, reserved to people who do not suffer from vertigo. The path sometimes overhangs the Carbet river of more than 100 meters!
